Jagran Pehel

Gender Equality

Gender bias is inherent in every aspect of Indian society. It’s more violent forms are manifested in skewed sex ratio, domestic violence, female feticide and dowry harassment. To reduce gender gap and include women in the development process, Pehel has played important role by awareness creation and sensitisation among different stakeholders. Our mass media campaign and media sensitisation workshops have been conducted in association with UNFPA, Breakthrough, Hindustan Unilever Limited and UNDP- TAHA, mainly on issues related to capacity building, domestic violence, trafficking and sex- selective abortions.
