Water is increasingly becoming a scarce resource. A significant proportion of India’s population does not have access to adequate and safe water supply. Media can play an important role not only in monitoring and reporting the status of water resource, but also in building awareness and motivating action for water conservation and management. Pehel in association with Jharkhand Health Society, Kent RO, Degremont and Delhi Government conducted successful campaigns on safe drinking water and prevention from water borne diseases. A school awareness program on water conservation was also organised.
