A Road Safety Campaign

Pehel has undertaken a very interesting and interactive campaign on Road Safety in collaboration with Society for Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) through its parent organisation Dainik Jagran. It has highlighted traffic related issues nationally by organising Prashna Prahar (Question & Answer session with Readers and Traffic Experts) all over Jagran's foot print. Issues were like Road Safety, Traffic Problems and Management, Road Conditions etc. How improvement can be made was the main concern of entire event. These events continued till 10th of January'08.

This intervention was followed by a very interesting and innovative Comic Strip Campaign on Road Safety in Dainik Jagran, Delhi and NCR region. This was a ten days campaign from 7th to 16th January 2008. Fictitious characters were created from Panchtantra a book on values of ancient India. Characters in the comic strip were talking about road safety measures through short stories. The themes of the strips were:

  • Use of Helmet
  • Risk in use of Mobile Phones while driving
  • Use of Zebra Crossing
  • Fatal consequence of Drunken Driving
  • Use of Dippers
  • Stunts on the Road
  • Safety use of Seat Belts
  • Speeding and
  • Lane Driving
