Jagran Pehel joined hands with Caritas India as a media partner in organizing an International Conference on Climate Change on 3-4th September, 2008 in the Institute of Defence Services & Analyses, New Delhi with special focus on Rural Communities livelihood. The said conference included people from varied backgrounds like- INGOs/NGOs, Academicians (from India & abroad), Corporate Houses, Scientists, Govt. of India experts on Environment etc. Conference sought the participation of 40 countries across the world. Participants vary from grass-root level workers to the top decision makers. Conference provided a platform for them to meet, share their views & plan a road ahead.
Taking this issue forward Jagran Pehel carried out articles like "Zameen ke Jism Pe Koi Libass Rahene Do" and "Global Warming Se Badla jalvayu ka Mijaz" in Dainik Jagran. The Conference aimed particularly at sensitizing the development partners and policy makers on the causes of Climate Change. It talked about the potential environmental, its socio-economic consequences, the adaption, mitigation and the options to respond to it.
